This position is for a Deputy Prosecuting Attorney (DPA) with multiple levels: I, II, or III. The DPA I represents the State in district court matters, including gross misdemeanors, misdemeanors, probation violations, and traffic infractions. The DPA II represents the State in felony criminal cases and juvenile matters, or provides civil representation for the County, handling more complex cases than DPA I with moderate supervision. A minimum of three years of law practice experience is required for DPA II. The DPA III also represents the State in felony criminal cases and juvenile matters, or provides civil representation for the County, but requires significant Juvenile and/or Superior Court jury trial and/or courtroom experience, handles the most complex and serious cases with minimal supervision, and may have lead or informal supervisory responsibilities.
