About The Position

The Deputy Project Manager will serve as a Supervisor responsible for coordinating contractor personnel in support of the national NIBIN and Crime Gun Intelligence mission. This role is responsible for performance, quality, and operational outcomes. The position involves monitoring production, identifying bottlenecks, managing workload surges, ensuring accurate reporting, developing staff capability, and escalating operational issues when needed. The Deputy Project Manager will plan and coordinate the activities of assigned contractor employees, establish employee schedules, coordinate priorities, and assist in providing replacement personnel. This role provides oversight and management of all assigned contractor staff to ensure their duties are accomplished, especially in work overload situations. The Deputy Project Manager will conduct meetings with the Contract PM, the COR, and NNCTC government personnel to discuss project activities, schedules, workloads, potential problems, and their resolution. Additionally, the role ensures contractor staff have the necessary tools and competencies, and that contractor compliance with Quality Assurance/Quality Control Plans is maintained. The Deputy Project Manager directs task completion within estimated timeframes and budget constraints, interfacing with client counterparts when appropriate.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university or possession of an equivalent combination of formal education and professional work experience related to this position (with prior approval from ATF).
  • Minimum of five years, however, more than six years recent experience commensurate with the job requirements is preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience providing leadership, supervision, and coordination of personnel and programs in a structured operational environment.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills; ability to coordinate with government CORs and the Contract Program Manager.
  • Public Trust (final determination subject to government approval)

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience supporting ATF, DOJ, or law enforcement agency operations.
  • Familiarity with NIBIN, ballistics identification, or forensic support services.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring that contractor staff has the tools and competencies necessary to accomplish their duties independently.
  • Ensuring contractor compliance with the Quality Assurance/Quality Control Plans in place for the NNCTC.
  • Directing completion of tasks within estimated timeframes and budget constraints, while interfacing with client counterparts when appropriate.
