About The Position

The rapid growth of AI and digitalization is fueling unprecedented demand for data centers that require large, reliable sources of energy. In response to this market trend, the Renewables & Clean Power (R&CP) team have signed an early works contract to build one of the largest gas fired power generation facilities in the U.S. The Kilby CCGT project is of significant scale and complexity, and our team is helping the customer progress early-stage development, that would lead to the start of full EPC delivery this year. We are seeking an experienced candidate to be the Deputy Project Field Superintendent on the CCGT Project in Pecos, Texas. You will mobilize to the project on a long-term (camp) assignment in Pecos, TX. This position is contingent upon project award.

Requirements

  • Requires bachelors degree (or international equivalent) and 10-13 years of relevant experience or 14-17 years of relevant work experience
  • Experience in Combined Cycle and/or Light Duty Gas Turbines/Aeroderivative projects are preferred.
  • Experience managing projects executed under direct hire open shop craft professionals.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of construction engineering practices related to all disciplines.
  • Able to work extended work schedules as required to support the project execution plans and schedules.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills and experience in establishing a high-performing team

Responsibilities

  • Supervises and directs craft activities, subordinate superintendents, and others, as assigned. (Direct Hire)
  • Schedules work to be performed and reviews work accomplished by each craft. (Direct Hire)
  • Determines workforce requirements.
  • Coordinates established area operational plans.
  • Oversees tool and equipment usage on the site.
  • Manages the preparation of field material requisitions for tools and consumables and ensures that the craft professionals have the tools they require to be productive.
  • Ensures the most current design document is used to complete the work and that all design changes are approved prior to implementation.
  • Ensures assigned construction operations and subcontractors’ performance are in compliance with specifications and within schedules and budgets.
  • Works with construction field engineers, foremen, and craft professionals, in interpreting engineering design documents, vendor documents, and other technical documents
  • Manages engineering solutions with subcontractors, foremen and craft professionals.
  • Coordinates the construction completion walkdowns and supervises the close out of all punch list items.
  • Ensures competent and practical adherence to the Bechtel standards and lessons learned.
  • Identifies potential back charges and out-of-scope issues and reports to management. Supports commercial recovery process.
