About The Position

The Deputy PMO Tower Lead supports the PMO Tower Director in leading program governance across a complex, multi-tower Department of Veterans Affairs program. The role helps run the Program Management Office, which governs program execution through compliance, tracking and monitoring, metrics and analytics, scheduling, quality and standardization, staff onboarding, and program-level coordination. As a key partner to the PMO Tower Director, the Deputy helps ensure governance processes, deliverables, schedules, risks, performance measures, and program commitments remain visible, coordinated, and on track. The position supports the governance structure and operating rhythm; integrated master schedule and cross-tower dependency management; deliverable calendar, quality review, and acceptance tracking; KPI and AQL monitoring and forecasting; risk, issue, and action management; contract compliance and audit readiness; quarterly program reviews and executive reporting; staffing and onboarding records; and consistent PMO tools, templates, processes, and reporting. The Deputy also supports program-level quality controls and continuity of PMO operations when delegated, while maintaining the distinction between contractor recommendations and Government decision, approval, and acceptance authority. The role is based in Rockville, Maryland, or Austin, Texas, with a minimum of two days per week in the office and travel as required by customer mission needs. Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain the personnel suitability, credentials, system access, and training required for a Tier 4 / High Risk clearance. The suggested pay range is $108,546–$125,875; salary offers consider skills, qualifications, experience, and location, and certain positions may be eligible for additional compensation such as bonuses.
