About The Position

The Deputy Manufacturing Chief Engineer (MCE Program) is responsible for the assurance of manufacturing launch execution to key performance indicators. This role involves control of overall project scope, cost, and timing, facilitating Manufacturing Engineering launch coordination meetings, and consolidating reporting of launch execution metrics across Manufacturing and Engineering teams. The position also requires consolidating and developing launch update presentations for leadership reviews, collecting status of Manufacturing Engineering KPIs, and ensuring the launch portal is accurate with current issue and status updates. The Deputy MCE will monitor timing milestone status on the portal, correct/escalate issues, participate in Launch Steering Committee meetings, and support follow-up activities. Additionally, the role provides assembly plant support for launch activities prior to pilot, with 100% onsite support from pilot through plant buyoff after Job 1. The Deputy MCE will facilitate Program Management deliverables according to the project phase, monitor program timing milestone changes from the plan of record, and support the development and standardization of processes across the MCE organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (engineering degree preferred)
  • 8+ years of Assembly plant launch experience (minimum of 1 major launch)
  • Project management experience (PMP certification preferred)
  • Basic process knowledge of vehicle assembly (BIW, Paint, GA)
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work within a unionized facility
  • Ability to effectively communicate and interact at Executive levels
  • Ability to manage cross functional teams to attain a common goal without direct supervision of the teams
  • Knowledge of MEDDS, PentaSAP, PFS, Manufacturing Portal, and MCE Global Portal

Responsibilities

  • Collect status of Manufacturing Engineering KPI's and creation /oversight of status reports.
  • Ensure the launch portal is accurate and all issues and all status updates are current.
  • Monitor timing milestone status on the portal and correct/escalate issues.
  • Participate in Launch Steering Committee meetings and support follow-up activities.
