About The Position

Works under appointment and serves under the direction of the Director of Community Services to be responsible for oversight and evaluation of the Division’s justice programs, as well as serving as a convener of and collaborator with other justice system and social service agencies and individuals.

Requirements

  • Seven (7) years' experience in a managerial/supervisory capacity, including project and/or grant management; AND Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in public or business administration, management, criminal justice, human services, social work, or a closely related field; OR An equivalent combination of related education and/or experience.
  • PROOF OF EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND/OR EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED.

  • Ability to increase the Division’s programs’ awareness throughout the county.

Responsibilities

  • Serves on the Division of Community Services Executive Leadership Team, assisting the Director in Division-wide strategy and implementation of plans and goals.
  • Directs and analyzes the activities of operating programs to evaluate their effectiveness in achieving the department’s and the Division’s objectives.
  • Develop and monitor process improvement measures for the purpose of ensuring high quality education, services, and programming are provided to clients, agency partners, and county residents.
  • Assists in the development and design of measurable program goals and objectives based on program data (i.e. trends in data, community needs assessment).
  • Assists the Director in identifying the Division’s financial, personnel, and material needs and problems.
  • Develops plans, policies, and procedures to address needs and problems.
  • Develops budget estimates and justifications, ensures utilization of funds remains within the operating budget.
  • Coordinates with departmental leadership to implement initiatives, and special projects, and compile complex annual, monthly, and special reports.
  • Ensures that Division pillar philosophies, values, standards, and practices are consistently implemented throughout the Division.
  • Researches, identifies, and assists departments in applying for and administering, coordinating, and monitoring federal, state, local, and private grants in accordance with applicable standards, regulations, and guidelines.
  • Serves as a community leader in the criminal justice field, convening and collaborating with other elected officials and providers, and providing training and technical assistance to partners and allies.
  • Performs other related duties as required or directed.
