About The Position

The Maryland Aviation Administration (MAA) is seeking a Deputy Director of Non-Aeronautical Revenue (DOT Executive V) for the Office of Commercial Management at Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI Marshall Airport). This role is responsible for managing all commercial non-aeronautical and non-airline business activities, including the analysis, negotiation, and management of leases and concessions contracts at BWI Marshall and Martin State Airports. The position serves at the pleasure of the appointing authority.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Business Administration, Public Administration, Aviation Management, Real Estate, Finance, Economics, Contract Management, or a related field.
  • Five (5) years of professional experience in commercial management, concessions, leasing, contract administration, business development, real estate management, or revenue management at an airport, transportation authority, or similarly complex public or private organization.
  • U.S. Armed Forces military service experience may be substituted for the required education and experience on a year-for-year basis.

Responsibilities

  • Directing and supervising negotiation and preparation of revenue contracts with commercial tenants and private sector businesses.
  • Developing policies and procedures for tenants and concessions, ensuring compliance with contractual terms and facilitating excellent customer service.
  • Supporting and occasionally overseeing the preparations and modification of solicitations that result in concession selection and award.
  • Serving as the point of contact for the Maryland Aviation Administration (MAA) and all non-airline tenants at BWI Marshall and Martin State airports in matters related to space management, rents, revenue collection, and testing.
  • Supporting management of terminal space, including all airport space assignments, classifications, and inventory.
  • Implementing assignment of commercial and hangar space at Martin State Airport.
  • Participating with planners and engineers in the planning and review of airport development plans to ensure commercial business tenants and concession programs meet the needs of the traveling public, private companies, and goals of the Maryland Aviation Administration (MAA).
  • Managing the performance of administrative functions relating to lease contracts.
