Deputy Director of Agriculture & Measurement Standards - Department Promotional
About The Position
This is a Department Promotional Examination open to eligible employees of the Department of Agriculture and Measurement Standards. The appraisal process, worth 100% of the evaluation, will assess the applicant's training, education, experience, interest, and personal fitness for the position. This appraisal may include an investigation, oral exam, and/or review of the application. Applicants must achieve a minimum score of 70% in each phase of the examination. Examination components for promotional testing will be administered on scheduled dates and times without exception. This examination will establish an eligible list for immediate appointment at the Department of Agriculture and Measurement Standards, with potential for other permanent and temporary appointments as needed. Successful candidates will remain on the eligible list for twelve months, unless otherwise specified by the Civil Service Commission. Requirements
- A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four (4) year college or university that meets the minimum qualifications established by the California Secretary of Agriculture.
- Possession of valid County Deputy Agricultural Commissioner license OR County Deputy Sealer of Weights and Measures license.
- Three (3) years of increasingly responsible experience in the enforcement of agricultural and/or weights and measures laws and regulations.
- Possession of a valid Class C California driver's license is required.
- A Class A or B California driver's license may be required depending upon assignment.
- Applicants must attain at least a 70% score on each phase of the examination process.
- Valid government issued photograph identification is required for admittance to the examination.
- Background check may be conducted.
- Post offer medical and drug screening tests may be required.
