About The Position

The Deputy Director of Asset Information Delivery leads the MBTA’s enterprise program for integrating asset information requirements into infrastructure delivery, asset renewals, and capital investment activities. This role is responsible for establishing how asset information associated with new, renewed, replaced, or modified infrastructure is identified, governed, validated, and incorporated into the Authority’s Enterprise Asset Management System (EAMS). The Deputy Director oversees the development and implementation of standards, specifications, workflows, and governance processes associated with asset information turnover across capital projects, operational programs, maintenance activities, and other infrastructure delivery initiatives. This includes ensuring that asset data, documentation, hierarchy structures, and lifecycle information are consistently delivered in accordance with MBTA asset management requirements. This role serves as the primary coordination point between Asset Management, Capital Delivery, Engineering, Maintenance, Operations, contractors/vendors, EAM system administration teams, and other MBTA groups supporting capital improvement activities. The position also supports the continued maturation of enterprise asset lifecycle governance by developing processes that improve how asset information is captured from both traditional capital projects and operational renewal activities across the Authority.

Requirements

A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, Information Technology, Transportation, Project Management, Business, or a related field.
Five (5) years of professional experience supporting delivery projects, infrastructure programs, engineering, construction, asset management, asset information management, project turnover, or related programs.
Two (2) years of supervisory, leadership, or large project coordination experience.
Experience developing or managing technical standards, specifications, turnover requirements, or infrastructure documentation processes.
Experience coordinating across multiple departments, contractors, consultants, and stakeholders within large infrastructure or transportation environments.
Experience supporting project closeout, commissioning, turnover, asset inventory, or infrastructure data management activities.
Familiarity with Enterprise Asset Management Systems (EAMS), infrastructure data management, or asset lifecycle management practices.
Ability to review technical documents, drawings, specifications, and asset information deliverables.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Possession of a valid driver's license without infractions per MBTA policy.
Have the ability to work any shifts and/or locations assigned or directed.
Be available to work twenty-four (24) hours per day, seven (7) days per week, 365 days per year.
Have the ability to supervise and work effectively with a diverse workforce.

Nice To Haves

Experience working in transit, railroad, transportation, infrastructure, engineering, construction, maintenance, or capital delivery environments.
Experience supporting asset turnover, commissioning, project closeout, BIM/GIS integration, or asset information delivery programs.

Responsibilities

Lead the MBTA’s Asset Information Delivery (AID) program and associated asset turnover governance activities.
Develop, implement, and maintain enterprise asset information specifications, standards, turnover requirements, and asset data delivery processes.
Serve as the primary authority for Asset Management specifications associated with MBTA capital projects, infrastructure programs, renewals, and asset replacement initiatives.
Ensure asset information requirements are incorporated into project specifications, contracts, design reviews, turnover packages, and project closeout activities.
Collaborate and coordinate with Capital Delivery, Engineering, Maintenance, Operations, project teams, and other MBTA groups supporting asset renewals, and capital improvement activities to ensure asset information is accurately captured and integrated into MBTA systems.
Establish and improve processes for capturing asset information associated with operational work, force account activities, state-of-good-repair programs, and non-traditional asset renewals.
Review and approve asset turnover submissions, asset data deliverables, and project closeout documentation for compliance with MBTA requirements.
Identify deficiencies, gaps, and non-compliant asset information submissions and coordinate corrective actions with project teams, contractors, consultants, and stakeholders.
Develop and implement enterprise asset data standards, asset hierarchies, naming conventions, and lifecycle data governance practices.
Participate in project reviews, commissioning activities, substantial completion reviews, and project turnover meetings.
Lead efforts in coordination with Asset Information, Planning, and Configuration Engineering teams to support enterprise asset lifecycle management objectives.
Conduct field visits to validate asset information, condition assessments, and infrastructure documentation.
Manage staff, workload priorities, and program initiatives
Support continuous improvement of MBTA asset information governance, turnover, and lifecycle data integration processes.
Enforce Asset Management department policies and procedures in accordance with MBTA manuals.
Respond or report to work as directed by supervisory personnel for emergencies, extreme weather conditions, or any other abnormal conditions that impair service or the safety of service, twenty-four (24) hours per day, seven (7) days per week.
Perform related duties and projects as assigned.
