Assists and carries out all clerical tasks and duties in the District Court of law. This role involves preparing dockets, explaining procedures, securing information for the judge, recording case dispositions, collecting court fees and fines, coordinating case scheduling, and resolving inquiries from attorneys and the public. The position also includes preparing financial reports, processing mail and filings, preparing various legal documents such as orders of judgment and writs of garnishment, and maintaining the organization and security of all files. If assigned duties as Probation Clerk, responsibilities include administrative and clerical intakes for the probation office, collecting and safeguarding probation fees, answering telephones, assisting with probation appointments, instructing defendants on probation requirements, monitoring compliance with court orders, and administering drug tests. Assistance to other court clerks may also be required.
