Requirements

Juris Doctorate degree from an ABA accredited law school
Admitted to the Montana State Bar
Knowledgeable in Criminal Law
Knowledgeable in Rules of Civil and Criminal Procedure
Knowledgeable in Rules of Evidence
Knowledgeable in the principles of trial advocacy and applicable law and court procedures and applicable rules
Proficient with computers
Proficient with on-line legal research
Able to learn and navigate proprietary software programs

Responsibilities

Prosecute criminal and juvenile offenders
Represent the state in child abuse and neglect cases
Review investigative reports
Make determinations about prosecutions
Draft and file charging documents
