The Albany County Attorney’s Office is seeking a Deputy County and Prosecuting Attorney. The Deputy County Attorney will be responsible for prosecuting criminal cases, although may be reassigned as requested by the County Attorney. The duties of a deputy county attorney may include the following: Preparing and trying cases involving misdemeanor crimes; Reviewing criminal investigations and evaluating criminal cases for appropriate charges, plea dispositions, and likelihood of success at trial; Collaborating with law enforcement agencies to provide assistance with warrant reviews and legal questions; Analyzing cases, reviewing discovery, and litigating legal issues, including both oral and written advocacy; Serving as an on-call attorney in a rotation with the other deputy county attorneys; Regularly appear in court daily for arraignments, motion hearings, bench trials, and other court hearings; Performing related work as requested or required; Possibility of being reassigned in emergency situations.
