This position is responsible for providing in and out of court support for Superior & State Civil and Criminal proceedings for the three highest-level courts of Muscogee County. It coordinates case intake activities, oversees the processing of all superior court criminal court cases, including the filing of court documents, issuance of required documents, and accurate recording of all relevant case information and history. The role involves reviewing, evaluating, and accepting or rejecting submission of court cases and documents based upon legal sufficiency, ensuring all required preliminary steps have been taken, and monitoring case processing for timeliness and compliance with relevant laws. The Deputy Clerk prepares case files for court proceedings and coordinates all court case-related activities with a wide range of stakeholders including judges, attorneys, law enforcement, probation services, state agencies, and the public. The position requires attending hearings, arraignments, probation revocations, and civil and criminal verdicts, coordinating courtroom activities, striking civil and criminal juries, and recording jury verdicts, motions, orders, and other judicial directives. Additionally, the role involves receiving, reviewing, and correcting lower court warrants and documents for Superior & State Courts, researching and responding to inquiries about court policies, procedures, case status, and fines/costs, and preparing court orders for judicial review. Performs other duties as assigned.
