About The Position

The Deputy City Manager (DCM) is a pivotal leadership role at the center of Victoria’s development, offering the opportunity to drive strategic initiatives and oversee key service areas based on the selected candidate’s background and the organization’s needs. Requirements

  • Experience in managing a variety of city operational departments
  • A Minimum ten (10) years of municipal government experience with at least three (3) years as a City Manager, Deputy, or Assistant City Manager.
  • Proven ability to provide strategic advice on complex policy and operational issues.
  • Skilled in building relationships with elected officials, staff, and community partners.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Business, or related field.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in Public Administration, Business, Economic Development, or related field.
  • Experience with Civil Service, labor relations, development services, tourism, downtown revitalization, or Type B EDCs.
  • ICMA-CM, CPM, or similar professional certification.
  • Prefered experience managing public safety or economic development.
