About The Position

The Deputy Chief Medical Officer assists the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) in overseeing quadruple aim healthcare (enhancing patient experience, improving population health, reducing cost and reducing provider burnout) at Aviva Health. The Deputy CMO serves as a medical practitioner leader who collaborates closely with executive leadership, medical providers, directors, managers, and interdisciplinary teams to strengthen clinical quality, operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, provider engagement, and process improvement initiatives across the organization. This role assists with oversight of programs including peer reviews, provider education, credentialing support, quality improvement, risk management, clinical compliance, EHR optimization, workflow standardization, and policy development. The Deputy CMO participates in organizational leadership meetings and may represent the CMO in their absence. This position is structured as approximately 0.5 Clinical FTE and 0.5 Administrative FTE. Administrative responsibilities include organizational leadership, provider oversight, committee participation, quality improvement initiatives, clinical operations collaboration, and strategic planning activities. In addition to administrative and leadership responsibilities, the Deputy CMO functions as a practicing Physician providing comprehensive outpatient primary care services to patients of Aviva Health, including underserved and vulnerable populations throughout Douglas County.

Requirements

  • Active, unrestricted, and unencumbered Oregon license to practice as a Physician (MD/DO), Nurse Practitioner (NP), or Physician Associate (PA).
  • Current DEA registration in good standing, as required for the provider's scope of practice.
  • Maintain all required professional certifications, registrations, and credentials in good standing applicable to their profession and specialty, including board certification for physicians when applicable and national certification for advanced practice providers.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of post-licensure clinical experience in an ambulatory or outpatient healthcare setting.
