About The Position

This class is distinguished from the Court Administrator class in that an incumbent provides specialized assistance with the oversight of one or more designated areas of the Municipal Court rather than the overall activities of the Court. Incumbents of this class maintain considerable latitude for independent actions and exercise professional discretion within the framework of departmental policies. In the absence of the Court Administrator, incumbents of this class act on matters for which authority has been delegated. Otherwise, incumbents in this class are responsible for carrying out high level initiatives as identified by the Court Administrator and providing oversight of one or more of the following areas: budget and fiscal services communication and customer care; information systems technology planning, execution and maintenance, court operations and quality control in the assigned area of specialization. In addition, incumbents will be responsible for planning, implementing, evaluating and improving administrative and operational policies, procedures and programs monitoring or participating in employee selection, performance management, development and relations; and providing operational performance reports. Incumbents in this class will directly supervise Court Operations Managers and other supervisors as necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Provide specialized assistance with the oversight of one or more designated areas of the Municipal Court.
  • Act on matters for which authority has been delegated in the absence of the Court Administrator.
  • Carry out high level initiatives as identified by the Court Administrator.
  • Provide oversight of budget and fiscal services, communication and customer care, information systems technology planning, execution and maintenance, court operations and quality control in the assigned area of specialization.
  • Plan, implement, evaluate and improve administrative and operational policies, procedures and programs.
