About The Position

LEO Pharma is seeking a Procurement Deputy Category Manager to support their procurement priorities across North America. This role involves strategic sourcing, supplier relationship management, and delivering value to the business. The position is remote with occasional travel to the Toronto office for critical business meetings.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Supply Chain, Finance, Engineering, Life Sciences, or a related field.
  • Solid 5+ years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, or category management within complex and/or international organizations.
  • Strong procurement acumen with the ability to assess spend, supplier, market, and commercial data to identify opportunities and mitigate risks.
  • Demonstrated success managing and influencing senior stakeholders in sourcing events, decision forums, and workshops.
  • Proven expertise in negotiation, supplier management, contract management, and procurement projects.

Nice To Haves

  • Background in biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, or other regulated industries will be advantageous.
  • Knowledge of sourcing for commercial and medical services across Canada and the U.S. will be a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting the development and implementation of category strategies for assigned spend areas in Canada and in the U.S.
  • Managing assigned categories and subcategories, ensuring correct supplier classification and accurate data quality.
  • Analyzing spend, supplier, and market data to identify opportunities for consolidation, cost optimization, and risk reduction.
  • Leading sourcing projects, including RFx processes, supplier evaluations, negotiations, and contract execution.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with internal stakeholders and suppliers across Canada and the U.S.
  • Conducting supplier and stakeholder meetings to monitor performance, address issues, and identify areas for improvement.
  • Providing procurement expertise, including negotiations and contract management, collaborating with Legal and relevant stakeholders.
  • Contributing to supplier relationship management (SRM) activities for strategic and key suppliers.
  • Monitoring supply market developments, trends, and risks relevant to assigned categories and regional contexts.
  • Ensuring compliance with procurement policies and tracking the achievement of procurement KPIs.
  • Acting as a trusted advisor to stakeholders, providing guidance on procurement-related activities within assigned categories.
