About The Position

The main purpose of the Deputy Bureau Director is to assist and support the Bureau Chief and LBHA Director with the jurisdictional management in the planning, oversight and monitoring of the Behavioral Health system of care in Carroll County. This position ensures that all staff are operating within the Federal and State regulations and works with County Government to provide consultation and oversight to County operated Behavioral Health programming and systems development. This position assists with and oversees the day to day operations of the Bureau of Prevention, Wellness, and Recovery. When public health response is necessary, this position will cover other shifts. Evening/weekend availability may be needed for meetings, community outreach/events where representation is needed from the Bureau/LBHA.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Six years of health or human services administrative or professional experience.
  • Three years of supervisory or managerial level experience.
  • A Master's degree from an accredited college or university will substitute for one year of the general experience.
  • A Doctorate will substitute for two years of the general experience.
  • Additional experience will substitute on a year-for-year basis for the college degree.

Responsibilities

  • Assist and support the Bureau Chief and LBHA Director with jurisdictional management in planning, oversight, and monitoring of the Behavioral Health system of care in Carroll County.
  • Ensure all staff operate within Federal and State regulations.
  • Provide consultation and oversight to County-operated Behavioral Health programming and systems development in conjunction with County Government.
  • Assist with and oversee the day-to-day operations of the Bureau of Prevention, Wellness, and Recovery.
  • Cover other shifts when public health response is necessary.
  • Be available for evening/weekend meetings, community outreach/events requiring Bureau/LBHA representation.
