The Deputy Director for the Access to Healthcare Services Bureau assists in the planning and operational oversight of the bureau. The Access to Healthcare programs are designed to improve access to healthcare services for Howard County residents. The position supports daily bureau operations across the Maryland Children’s Health Program (MCHP), Medical Assistance Transportation Program (MATP), Administrative Care Coordination Unit (ACCU), Cancer Control Program, ODIP Dental Grant, Kids Dental Program, and other access-to-care initiatives. This daily support includes staff supervision, assisting with problem-solving daily issues, steps in to address staffing gaps and addressing next-level client grievances. Mid-range supports include: budget monitoring, program performance monitoring, and data analysis. This position is responsible for organizing program and bureau outreach efforts and partnership expansion. This role is responsible for strengthening community partnerships, coordinating responses to healthcare access challenges, supporting strategic initiatives related to uninsured and underinsured populations, and ensuring residents are connected to available healthcare and supportive services. This position is eligible for hybrid telework.
