Basic Function: An employee in this class provides varied legal services and advice on matters of moderate or significant scope and complexity. Work involves the practice of administrative law and will require regular interaction with all divisions of the Office of Attorney General, as well as members of the public. The employee in this position will be serving as an internal agency counsel for procurement and administrative matters. As a Deputy Attorney General II (DAG II) gains experience, work increases in complexity and is performed with more independence. A Deputy Attorney General III (DAG III) will be assigned more complex and significant cases and works independently on most matters. A Deputy Attorney General IV (DAG IV) or Deputy Attorney General V (DAG V) works independently except in extraordinary cases.
