The Chief Deputy Attorney General of the Charitable Trusts and Organizations Section (CTO) is a highly advanced professional, legal, and administrative position in the PA Office of Attorney General. An employee in this position serves as the Chief of a section that handles several thousand matters related to Pennsylvania nonprofit organizations, charitable trusts, and charitable estates. The employee in this position is responsible for all legal and administrative matters inherent to the operation of CTO. This position serves as the Section Chief of CTO and is responsible for rendering legal services and advice on matters of paramount importance, scope, and complexity and performing administrative tasks in the oversight and guidance of the section. Supervision is exercised, often through intermediate supervisors, over a large staff of attorneys and various investigative and staff positions, which includes assigning and reviewing work. Work is received via policy direction from the Executive Deputy Attorney General of the Public Protection Division, is performed with wide latitude for independent judgment, and is reviewed through conferences with the Executive Deputy Attorney General.
