About The Position

At Regions, the Bank Operations Deposit Processing Specialist performs operational duties to support the processing of deposits including check processing, exception processing, and return item processing.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED
Two (2) years of related banking or operations experience
Ability to interpret and ensure compliance with applicable rules, regulations, and industry guidance
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
General knowledge of banking procedures
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word

Responsibilities

Performs maintenance on all accounts
Ensures that all deposits are coded and processed correctly
Corrects and resolves any encoding errors
Processes any return deposit items
Acts as first line of defense for fraud or suspicious transaction activities, including escalating any suspicious transactions or closing the account
Keeps up to date on all applicable government regulations and company policies
Provides guidance to less experienced team members
Ensures compliance with risk management programs, rules and regulations, and cybersecurity practices; identifies opportunities for and supports process improvements; applies disciplined change management practices
