This person must effectively communicate regularly with Customer Service, Treasury Management and Relationship Managers on information requests and exception items, among other responsibilities detailed below. This position requires a high school degree or equivalent, associate or bachelor’s degree preferred, 3 years of management experience and 5 years of experience commensurate with responsibilities below.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of relevant back office banking experience (including experience with wires, fraud, overdrafts, ACH returns, managing risk, deposit operations)
  • 3+ years of management experience
  • High school degree or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Knowledge of core banking systems; proficiency with Jack Henry a plus
  • Detail oriented and highly organized
  • Able to multi-task and prioritize to meet deadlines
  • Able to work both independently and as an integral part of a team
  • Quickly and proficiently comprehend new information
  • Able to focus on key priorities and thrive in a complex and ever-changing environment
  • A thorough understanding of all policies, procedures and regulations pertaining to the job
  • Willingness to learn and contribute to company’s financial growth and profitability
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team that performs the following functions: Process daily incoming and outgoing Domestic and International wires Resolve daily transactions in fraud system Review and process daily overdrafts Receive and process unposted transactions Review and process large dollar return notifications Process ACH dishonored items and retrieve ACH reports from system Submit outgoing checks to respective banks for payment – including foreign drafts Balance and reconcile internal accounts to the general ledger Review and process OFAC/FinCEN files
  • Oversee all deposit operations for the bank and its impact
  • Ensure that the department runs smoothly and efficiently by managing the staff and developing and implementing plans to support strategic objectives
  • Manage risks associated with bank operations by ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies
  • Process domestic and international wires daily while making sure policies and procedures are followed
  • Review and analyze items and patterns for fraud prevention and detection
  • Develop and maintain an in-depth knowledge of bank products, services, department procedures and policies, and regulations to ensure accurate handling of customer inquiries
