About The Position

DAn Solutions is seeking an experienced Deployment IT Specialist – Staff to support the configuration, installation, integration, and troubleshooting of network and IT infrastructure at remote customer locations. This is a highly hands-on, customer-facing technical position supporting the full deployment lifecycle-from site surveys and requirements gathering through network configuration, equipment installation, circuit activation, troubleshooting, and site turnover. The ideal candidate will have a strong networking background, hands-on experience with Cisco technologies and secure communications equipment, and the ability to independently troubleshoot complex technical issues in the field. Candidates must be comfortable with significant travel and deployments in support of mission requirements.

Requirements

  • Active TS/SCI clearance with CI Polygraph.
  • Current CompTIA Security+ certification.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical discipline, plus 5+ years of relevant IT/networking experience; an equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience may be considered.
  • Hands-on experience configuring, installing, and troubleshooting Cisco routers and switches.
  • Strong knowledge and practical experience with routing and switching protocols.
  • Experience installing, configuring, or troubleshooting TACLANEs/KG-175 devices.
  • Experience troubleshooting network connectivity and IT systems in operational environments.
  • Experience conducting technical site surveys and gathering customer requirements.
  • Experience testing, troubleshooting, and activating network circuits.
  • Ability to create and maintain technical network diagrams using Microsoft Visio.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to independently resolve technical issues in the field.
  • Strong customer-facing communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple technical priorities and remain organized while supporting deployments.
  • Willing and able to travel within the United States up to 75%, with occasional OCONUS travel (approximately 5–10%).
  • Valid U.S. Passport and driver's license.
  • Ability to work onsite in Chantilly, Virginia when not supporting deployments.

  • Experience supporting network deployments within the Intelligence Community, Department of Defense, or other classified environments.

  • Experience supporting geographically dispersed and remote customer locations.
  • Experience working independently during field deployments and coordinating directly with customers and engineering teams.

Responsibilities

  • Configure, install, integrate, and troubleshoot Cisco routers, switches, VoIP systems, video teleconferencing (VTC) systems, and other network and telecommunications equipment at remote customer sites.
  • Create, test, and implement router and switch configurations.
  • Install, load, configure, and troubleshoot KG-175 TACLANEs and associated secure network communications equipment.
  • Conduct detailed technical site surveys to evaluate existing infrastructure, connectivity, equipment, and deployment requirements.
  • Gather, document, and validate customer technical and operational requirements.
  • Coordinate and request network circuits and associated connectivity required for site deployments.
  • Perform testing, troubleshooting, and activation of new network circuits.
  • Troubleshoot Windows client systems, printers, zero clients, virtual servers, desktop scanners, and other supporting IT equipment.
  • Interface directly with customers throughout the deployment lifecycle and keep stakeholders informed of installation status, technical issues, and deployment progress.
  • Create, update, and maintain Microsoft Visio network diagrams, site documentation, and configuration records.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve network, connectivity, configuration, hardware, and system issues encountered during deployments.
  • Provide recommendations to enhance network reliability, performance, security, and overall efficiency.
  • Provide system-wide engineering support for network conflicts, troubleshooting, and technical resolution.
  • Coordinate with network engineering, systems engineering, operations, security, and customer teams to successfully complete deployments.
  • Validate equipment configurations and network connectivity following installation.
  • Support site acceptance, turnover, and post-deployment troubleshooting as required.
  • Maintain accurate technical documentation and site-specific configuration information.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
