About The Position

Performs a full range of technician assignments associated with the management and operation of the State and Federal Surplus Programs. The Department of Technology, Management and Budget supports the business operations of state agencies through a variety of services, including building management and maintenance, information technology, centralized contracting and procurement, budget and financial management, space planning and leasing, construction management, motor vehicle fleet operations, and oversight of the state retirement systems. This position is 100% onsite and not eligible for a hybrid or remote work schedule. Requirements

  • Education typically acquired through completion of high school.
  • Departmental Technician 7: One year of experience performing administrative support activities equivalent to the 7-level in state service.
  • Departmental Technician 8: One year of experience performing administrative support activities equivalent to the 8-level in state service.
  • OR One year of experience as a technician or paraprofessional equivalent to the entry level in state service.
  • Departmental Technician E9: One year of experience as a supervisor of administrative support activities equivalent to the 9-level in state service.
  • OR One year of experience performing administrative support activities equivalent to the 9-level in state service.
  • OR Two years of experience as a technician or paraprofessional, including one year of experience equivalent to the intermediate level in state service.
  • Education and Experience for Departmental Technician (Departmental Trainee) 7-E9 (FOR CLASSIFIED STATE EMPLOYEES ONLY):
  • Education: Educational level typically acquired through completion of high school.
  • Experience: Departmental Technician (Trainee) 7: Two years of experience in a 7 level or higher non-administrative support ECP Group One classification.
  • OR One year of experience as a first-line supervisor in an ECP Group Three classification.
  • Departmental Technician 7: Completion of two years of college (60 semester or 90 term credits) may be substituted for the experience requirement.
  • Departmental Technician 8: Possession of a bachelor’s degree may be substituted for the experience requirement.
  • Departmental Technician E9: Possession of a bachelor’s degree and one year of job-related experience may be substituted for the experience requirement.

  • Applicants who possess foreign degrees must have their academic credentials evaluated or converted into U.S.educational equivalents.
