About The Position

This position serves as a project lead for the Great Lakes Homeland Security Training Conference and Expo (GLHSTCE), assigning tasks, managing deadlines, and ensuring success of the event. Serves as the outreach coordinator for the Pet Preparedness Program and outreach lead for Severe Weather, Winter Hazards, and Emergency Management Month Campaigns analyzing various metrics and data points to evaluate performance, identify areas for improvement, and increase awareness through strategic social messaging. Attend outreach events with various internal and external partners, sharing information and education on MIREADY, Michigan’s Preparedness Program. Provide support to the division during activation of the State Emergency Operations Center (SEOC) for disaster or emergency drills, exercises, and actual events which may occur after hours, weekends, and/or holidays. The Michigan State Police (MSP) is a full-service policing agency with statewide jurisdiction, providing over 60 different services either directly to Michigan residents or in support of other law enforcement agencies. The MSP personnel most visible to the public are the uniform troopers whose primary responsibilities include traffic enforcement, crime prevention and investigation, and community engagement and service.

Requirements

  • Possession of a bachelor's degree in any major.
  • Departmental Analyst 10: One year of professional experience.
  • Departmental Analyst P11: Two years of professional experience, including one year of experience equivalent to the intermediate (10) level in state service.
  • Departmental Analyst 12: Three years of professional experience, including one year of experience equivalent to the experienced (P11) level in state service.
  • Education level typically acquired through completion of high school.
  • Four years of experience as an advanced 9-level worker in an ECP Group One classification.
  • OR Three years of experience as an E9, E10, or E11-level worker in an ECP Group One classification.
  • OR Two years of experience as an experienced level worker in an ECP Group One technician or paraprofessional classification.
  • OR Two years of experience as a first-line supervisor in an ECP Group Three classification.
  • OR One year of experience as a second-line supervisor in an ECP Group Three classification.
  • Paraprofessional classifications are those requiring an associate's degree or two years of college.
  • Educational level typically acquired through completion of high school and the equivalent of at least two years of full-time active-duty experience at or above the E-6 level in the uniformed services may be substituted for the education requirement.
  • Passing a pre-employment screening, including passing a drug screen, criminal history background check, and a fingerprint check by the Michigan State Police.

  • College credits may be substituted on a proportional basis (one year of college education may substitute for one quarter of the required experience) for up to one half of the required experience.
