About The Position

This position functions as a senior data analyst for the Bureau of Child Welfare Improvement (DCQI) with responsibility for the development of reports, spreadsheets and programs, and creating queries for use in analyzing data, policy, policy coordination and oversight to assist in making decisions related to the child welfare population. Performs analysis of current program operations in order to recommend policy or procedure changes to child welfare program managers. Provides technical and resource assistance to internal and external partners (including universities, human welfare foundations, and research agencies) and other administrations within MDHHS, as requested. Develops, manages databases and makes recommendations to child welfare managers and division directors for the monitoring of program design and resources needs. Position also assist in the development of a data delivery systems for all MDDHS as well as handle internal and external request for MDHHS. Provides technical assistance to MDHHS county child care workers and private agency child welfare workers regarding specific Child Welfare data reporting.

Requirements

  • Possession of a bachelor's degree in any major
  • Three years of professional experience, including one year of experience equivalent to the experienced (P11) level in state service
  • 3 years of experience in a child welfare service such as Foster Care, Adoption, Licensing, Children's Protective Services or Juvenile Justice and at least one year experience with the MiSACWIS application, or, 2 years of experience developing Structured Query Language (SQL) or Visual Basic Applications (VBA)
