Reporting to the Production Manager, the Department Supervisor is responsible for ensuring smooth operations in the Make-up and Lamination departments.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required
  • Experience with ERP systems required; SAP experience preferred
  • Experience working within ISO-regulated manufacturing environments preferred
  • 3-5 years’ of previous manufacturing experience required
  • 3-5 years’ experience in a supervisory role, preferably in a manufacturing setting
  • Strong skills in MS Office
  • Ability to stand, kneel, stoop and bend for extended periods of time
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring smooth operations of machinery, including morning start-up and change-overs
  • Supervising hourly personnel and managing daily break schedule
  • Maintain effective communication across all levels of the organization to support operational goals and employee engagement
  • Work closely with Production Manager, Operations Manager, EHS Team, Team Leads, Supervisors and management to ensure timely completion of daily production metrics
  • Actively support and identify opportunities for improvement in safety, quality, and productivity
  • Assist in identifying and coordinating training for employees
  • Provide performance appraisals and issues disciplinary actions for employees including providing direct feedback to employees to ensure safety, productivity and quality standards are achieved
  • Supports facility safety initiatives through addressing unsafe work habits, conducting accident investigations, and performing regular safety audits in tandem with EHS team
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Review production schedules, adjust resources as needed, and communicate schedule changes to appropriate personnel.
  • Monitor KPIs related to safety, quality, productivity, efficiency, scrap, and downtime
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean manufacturing principles and problem-solving techniques
  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce waste
  • Coach, mentor, and develop team members to support career growth and succession planning
  • Foster employee engagement and maintain positive employee relations
  • Following company policies and procedures and holding team members accountable
  • Training new hires and existing team members
  • Managing payroll, PTO requests and vacation schedules
  • Complete and maintain accurate production paperwork and employee documentation.
