This role will lead Customer Service/Front End and General Merchandise teams for the West Detroit Market. The ideal candidate must have a strong commitment to developing future leaders and driving operational excellence. The Department Manager is responsible for overall team member engagement, driving recognition, feedback, coaching, performance management, training, development, and succession planning. They will direct Leads and Team Leaders, while being accountable for area operations and financials, including shrink, productivity, safety, scheduling, forecasting staffing needs, and resolving team member and customer conflicts. The Department Manager will also work to identify and implement process improvements and serve as a steward of the Meijer culture.
