About The Position

The Department Manager is responsible for merchandising and sales in the assigned Lawn & Garden department and for providing the highest level of customer service. The role reports to the Store Manager and requires the ability to work days, nights, and every other weekend. Experience and knowledge of Lawn and Garden products are needed. The hourly pay range is $16.00–$18.00, depending on experience.

The position is based in a retail store environment and involves frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds, long periods of standing, and frequent bending and twisting. The company will consider reasonable accommodations for individuals with disabilities.

Requirements

• Experience and knowledge in Lawn and Garden products.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to work an irregular work schedule, including days, nights, and every other weekend.
• Frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand for long periods and bend and twist frequently.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma preferred.
• Customer service training and/or experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct and coordinate merchandising of assigned products.
• Set priorities for distributing new merchandise within the assigned department.
• Ensure adequate inventory in all areas of the assigned department.
• Assist customers with purchases.
• Work closely with Retail Buyers to communicate department product needs and other product information.
• Assist with training and directing new department team members.
• Ensure employees and customers practice safety when handling merchandise.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Store Manager.
