About The Position

As a Department Manager Intern for Pella Corporation, you must have a strong passion and drive to develop the people around you to perform at their peak potential. You must be loyal, conscientious and possess a strong desire to succeed and constantly improve. This role is part of Pella Corporation’s internship program and eligible participants may receive transition assistance in accordance with company policies and program guidelines. Department Manager Interns will manage factory team members, focusing on responsibilities regarding safety, quality, and productivity. They will also maintain the budget for labor efficiencies in their department and engage in continuous improvement (CI) initiatives such as Kaizen and Lean Manufacturing. Interns will learn and apply these CI principles through projects and teams, working side-by-side with Department Managers, and will be responsible for rewarding and holding team members accountable.

Responsibilities

Manage factory team members.
Responsibilities regarding safety, quality, and productivity.
Maintain budget for labor efficiencies in department.

Reward and hold team members accountable.
Learning and applying continuous improvement (CI) (Kaizen, Lean Mfg.) principles through projects and teams.
Working side by side with Department Managers.
