About The Position

The Department Lead plays a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient and effective operation of an assigned department at Rural King. The role oversees inventory, department recovery, price changes, planogram sets, cleanliness, and compliance with the indoor merchandising guide to maintain company standards and support a positive customer experience. The Department Lead also provides customer service, supports front-end operations as needed, participates in cross-training and learning initiatives, and provides professional support to associates and customers. This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of retail experience, with knowledge of a specific department.

• Ability to navigate and access all facilities.

Responsibilities

• Follow the indoor merchandising guide to maintain consistent department and signing standards and appealing displays.
• Monitor inventory levels by conducting stock counts, scanning outs, reconciling discrepancies, and replenishing inventory from the stockroom or top stock.
• Oversee department recovery to maintain a neat, organized, and visually appealing environment.
• Coordinate and execute price changes, updating labels and signage with relevant teams.
• Implement playbook features and planogram sets according to company guidelines and standards.
• Maintain department cleanliness and enforce sanitation and safety protocols.
• Provide customer service by answering inquiries, locating products, and addressing concerns using the customer engagement model.
• Support front-end operations by processing transactions or loadouts as needed.
• Use general office equipment, including telephones, copy machines, fax machines, calculators, and computers.
• Operate handheld devices, forklifts, pallet jacks, ladders, and other retail equipment.
• Participate in cross-training for flexibility across departments and responsibilities.
• Participate in training programs, workshops, webinars, and other learning initiatives.
• Provide friendly, proactive, and professional support to internal and external contacts, addressing inquiries and issues promptly.
