About The Position

The Department Head supports daily store operations by unloading incoming trucks and putting away merchandise as arranged by management, completing operational goals and priorities assigned by the store manager, maintaining merchandise displays and pricing, handling special orders for non-stock items, and providing customer service. The role also involves responding to radio requests, monitoring for shoplifting in accordance with Elder’s policy, and performing other duties as assigned.

Requirements

High school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) preferred.
Minimum of 6 months to 1 year of retail experience.
Technical proficiency with computer systems, including related software.
Ability to gather and analyze data and maintain accurate records.
Ability to take initiative, assume responsibility, and execute tasks thoroughly.
Ability to interact with staff at all levels of the organization.
Possess a valid driver license and an acceptable driving record according to the company’s insurance carrier’s standards.

Nice To Haves

Bilingual Spanish verbal and written communication skills strongly preferred.
High school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) preferred.

Responsibilities

Help unload incoming trucks and put away merchandise as arranged by management.
Execute daily operational goals and priorities assigned by the store manager.
Remove promotional bin tags from displays and price tags as required.
Restock merchandise displays as needed and monitor end caps and side wings.
Handle special orders for non-stock items.
Check with a manager before telling a customer that a request cannot be fulfilled.
Watch for shoplifters and act in line with Elder’s policy to discourage shoplifting.
Provide customer service and interaction that helps prevent shoplifting.
Respond to radio requests.
Perform other duties as assigned.
