Assists assigned departments and reports to the assistant store manager or the immediate supervisor. This role involves supplying the store with merchandise by sorting, packaging, and occasionally pricing donations for assigned departments. The Department Assistant will display merchandise in designated areas on the sales floor, perform responsibilities of various departments when a Pricer is absent, and assure the production department is clean and materials are stocked. Daily cleaning of the personal work area to remove dust and damaged goods is required. The role also involves keeping the sales floor shoppable by ragging, balancing, and rotating seasonal merchandise. Other duties and special assignments as directed, including assignments outside the primary area of employment, may also be part of this role.
