About The Position

Perform administrative support at a basic operational level regarding two or more of the essential support functions necessary for the operation of the branch, including production scheduling/shipping, inventory support, inside sales support, and basic accounting/bookkeeping support.

  • Prior experience in the construction industry
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Excellent written/verbal communication skills and math skills

  • Accuracy and attention to detail

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and update master and dispatch schedules for all fabrication orders
  • Coordinate production schedules with supervisors and detailers to maximize efficiency and minimize costs
  • Adjust schedules to accommodate customer needs, urgent requests, or shop constraints
  • Communicate scheduled delivery dates and updates to customers
  • Arrange trucking with approved freight companies and manage delivery schedules
  • Coordinate daily shipping activities to ensure on-time deliveries
  • Process freight documentation, including Bills of Lading, production tags, and shipping paperwork
  • Review and process freight invoices
  • Serve as a liaison between customers, shop teams, placers, and detailers to resolve scheduling or shipping issues
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with customers, vendors, and internal teams
  • Prepare, maintain, and record required documentation and paperwork
  • Assist with basic accounts payable and accounts receivable tasks
  • Support sales and estimating teams with bid preparation, project quotations, and follow-up reporting
  • Report weekly payroll hours
  • Communicate and distribute HR-related information to teammates
  • Assist with recordkeeping for safety, workers’ compensation, and related compliance areas
  • Support safety activities, including first reports, accident investigations, and required documentation
  • Assist with general office administration, including answering phones
  • Adhere to all Nucor Rebar Fabrication safety programs and standards
  • Demonstrate conduct consistent with Nucor Rebar Fabrication’s vision and values
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor
