Requirements

  • Graduation from an approved school of dentistry. Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.
  • Possess a license to practice dentistry issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Dentistry.
  • Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
  • Must be able to perform essential job functions.
  • Must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.

  • PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.

Responsibilities

  • Perform thorough periodontal exams, review medical histories, analyze x-rays, and diagnose oral conditions
  • Provide restorative, endodontic, surgical, and preventive dental care while ensuring infection control standards
  • Explain preventive measures and post-treatment instructions to patients and collaborate with specialists as needed
  • Guide and support Dental Assistants and Dental Hygienists through training, oversight, and evaluation of work quality
  • Examine schedules, records, and reports to confirm compliance with standards and address patient concerns and grievances
  • Monitor supply inventory, review requests, and ensure proper security and control of tools and materials
