About The Position

The Dentist provides dental services to inmate patients at the assigned institution while adhering to facility security regulations. The role requires accurate, timely documentation of services for the director or designee to support compliance with the client contract and proper compensation. The Dentist provides care in accordance with facility regulations and standards, evaluates dental needs, makes appropriate recommendations, and supports patient dental hygiene. Coverage is Monday through Friday.

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited school of dental medicine.
• Maintain current dentist licensure in the state of employment.
• Obtain and maintain CPR certification.
• Reside in the United States.

• One year of experience in general dentistry.

Responsibilities

• Provide dental care and treatment to referred patients in accordance with facility regulations and standards.
• Perform routine cleaning, restorative dentistry, and extractions as needed.
• Evaluate patients’ dental care needs and make clinically appropriate recommendations.
• Take impressions for dental appliances and instruct patients in good dental hygiene techniques.
• Maintain accurate, confidential, and timely patient records and provide documentation to the director or designee.
• Provide in-service training for health staff members.
• Adhere to the security regulations of the assigned facility.
