About The Position

This role involves providing comprehensive dental services in accordance with the American Dental Association (ADA) Standards of Practice. The dentist will be responsible for maintaining accurate patient records, including digital radiographs, and performing a wide range of dental procedures. This includes examinations, fillings, extractions, root canal therapy, and prosthetic work. The position also requires the ability to work independently in outreach settings, supervise dental assistants and hygiene students, and manage treatment planning and case design.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree.
  • Valid dental license in the state of practice.
  • Proficiency in all aspects of general dentistry, including restorative, endodontic, periodontic, and prosthodontic procedures.
  • Experience with intraoral digital radiography.
  • Knowledge of Electronic Dental Records (EDR) systems.
  • Ability to administer local anesthesia.
  • Experience with minor oral surgery procedures.
  • Ability to perform root canal therapy.
  • Skills in scaling, root planing, and prophylaxis.
  • Experience in preparing and fitting fixed and removable prostheses.
  • Ability to work independently and make clinical decisions.
  • Supervisory experience or ability to train and guide students/assistants.
  • Proficiency in taking dental impressions and creating models.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in outreach or public health dentistry.
  • Additional certifications or specializations in dentistry.

Responsibilities

  • Provide dental services within the Standards of Practice set forth by the American Dental Association (ADA).
  • Maintain accurate and confidential patient records in EDR.
  • Take accurate intraoral digital radiographs and record them in patient files.
  • Conduct complete examinations for dental patients.
  • Prepare cavities and fill primary and permanent teeth.
  • Remove calculus deposits and stains from teeth surfaces.
  • Administer anesthesia injections and extract diseased teeth.
  • Apply fluoride treatments to patients' teeth.
  • Perform root canal therapy.
  • Conduct gingival curettage, scaling and root planing, and prophylaxis.
  • Perform minor surgical procedures.
  • Prepare and cement fixed prostheses.
  • Prepare and deliver removable prostheses.
  • Work independently in outreach settings.
  • Supervise dental assistants or hygiene students in clinic and field settings.
  • Properly mix impression materials for taking impressions.
  • Accurately pour and trim models.
  • Develop diagnosis, treatment plans, and case designs for patients.
  • Prepare dentition for removable partial frameworks and fixed prostheses.
