About The Position

HJ Staffing is seeking a qualified, licensed Dentist to provide contracted routine and non-routine dental services to patients at Vernon State Hospital in Vernon, Texas. Under the supervision of the Medical Director, the Dentist will deliver quality oral healthcare while ensuring compliance with facility standards and accrediting bodies. The schedule is Monday, Tuesday, and every other Wednesday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The tentative start date is November 2, 2026, after completion of all compliance and clearance requirements. The application deadline is October 21, 2025, at 5:00 PM.

Requirements

• Hold an active, current, and unrestricted license to practice dentistry in Texas, issued through TDLR/TSBDE.
• Maintain current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification throughout the duration of services.
• Comply with HHSC immunization requirements.
• Submit to required HHSC drug testing.
• Complete required HHSC fingerprinting and background checks.
• Complete required facility and HHSC onboarding and training programs.

Responsibilities

• Provide routine and non-routine dental services to facility patients.
• Complete accurate and timely documentation of all services provided.
• Comply with facility Standard Operating Procedures, Joint Commission guidelines, CMS standards, Vernon State Hospital policies and directives, and HHSC rules and directives.
• Comply with staffing agency and Vernon State Hospital attendance and leave policies.
