About The Position

HealthFirst Bluegrass is seeking a dedicated Dentist / Clinical Dental Lead to provide exceptional patient care while helping lead and mentor our dental team. This role involves providing comprehensive dental care, leading and supporting clinical staff, educating patients, promoting oral health, and contributing to improved access to quality community healthcare as part of a mission-driven team.

Requirements

DDS or DMD from an accredited dental school
Active Kentucky Dental License
Current DEA Registration
BLS/CPR Certification

Responsibilities

Perform comprehensive dental examinations utilizing X-rays, diagnostic instruments, and clinical assessments.
Document findings and treatment plans accurately and timely in patient dental records.
Diagnose and treat dental diseases and conditions.
Restore teeth through appropriate preventive and restorative procedures.
Extract diseased or problematic teeth or refer patients for specialized care when necessary.
Treat diseases of the teeth, gums, and oral cavity through medication, procedures, or surgery.
Educate patients on oral hygiene, preventive care, and maintaining optimal dental health.
Participate in community outreach and oral health education activities.
Provide clinical oversight and supervision to dental staff.
Assist in recruiting, interviewing, training, and evaluating dental team members.
Communicate regularly with the Chief Dental Officer regarding staff performance and clinical competency.
Promote a collaborative, positive, and patient-focused team environment.
Participate in medical staff meetings, committees, and departmental conferences.
Coordinate purchasing of dental equipment and supplies.
Support day-to-day operations and administrative functions of the dental program.
Assist with performance management and staff development initiatives as needed.
