Our family medical services include primary medical care, dentistry, mental health, optometry, podiatry, and women’s health in Ossining, Sleepy Hollow, Mamaroneck, Port Chester, Mount Kisco, Brewster and Saugerties, New York. For additional information, please, visit www.opendoormedical.org. Open Door is seeking a Dentist to be located in Ossining, New York. The Dentist will provide support to the site clinical team, and lead meetings to facilitate communication and enhance positive patient experiences. This position reports to the Chief Dental Officer and will provide all phases of general dentistry.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Dental Medicine or Surgery, from a CODA-accredited institution.
  • Current NYS license without restrictions in NYS prior to start date.
  • Completion of a one-year General Practice Residency or Advanced Education in General Dentistry.
  • Excellent diagnostic skills and outstanding “chair-side manner”.
  • Outstanding active listening and communication skills.
  • Strong clinical knowledge and sound judgement.
  • Familiar with appropriate documentation and compliance for public health dental practices and ability to adapt to existing electronic health record systems(eClinical Works and Open Dental).
  • Engaged in life long learning and work toward continuous quality improvement.
  • Clear and succinct in both written and oral communications
  • Passionate about providing quality care to low-income, under-served community residents and those lacking access to health care.

Nice To Haves

  • 2+years’ experience in a Community Health Center or academic setting delivering patient care is desired.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in dental site-based quality improvement initiatives in line with office policies and procedures.
  • Provide quality dental care to patients including infants, children, teens, adults and aging adults.
  • Ability to focus on essential services such as, preventative, restorative, exodontia and management of dental emergencies.
  • Ensure quality oral health is delivered in a cost-effective, consistent and safe manner.
  • Provide appropriate specialist referrals and follow up as required.
  • Maintain electronic health records in compliance with Open Door’s standards and with high efficiency.
  • Engage patients and their families to ensure sustained health and overall well-being.
  • Maintain and stay up to date with ongoing research and developments in the field.
