Requirements

D.D.S. or D.M.D. degree.
Current Texas dental license.
Current DEA Controlled Substance Registration certificate.
Must be eligible for medical liability coverage under the Federal Torts Claims Act.
Demonstrates expertise in relevant dental practices, protocol, trends, and best practices in clinical areas assigned.
Demonstrates knowledge and success in effecting overall clinical operations.
Experience/knowledge of JCAHO accreditation process and requirements, as well as all federal, state, and local regulations and standards associated with the delivery of care in a community health center environment.
Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and emergency situations successfully.
Bilingual (Spanish and English) required.
Ability to move freely (Bending, reaching, standing, stooping, walking, pushing, and pulling).
A medium to high level of manual dexterity is required.
Ability to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
Occasional lifting and pushing.
Must be able to perform the essential duties of the position.
Must be able to meet the attendance requirements of the position.

Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive and appropriate dental care and treatment to patients.
Diagnose and treat diseases, injuries, and malformations of teeth and gums and related oral structures.
Achieve results by directly effecting improvements in patient well-being through accurate and timely diagnosis and delivery of high-quality dental treatment.
Ensure the delivery of competent, accurate, dental care and treatment to all patients as assigned.
Provide leadership and direction to other dental clinic staff.
Effect overall clinic results and meet or exceed all measurable standards of care, including overall clinical, quality, and productivity goals.
Ensure accuracy, efficiency, and appropriate confidentiality with patient charting and related recordkeeping and administrative functions.
Ensure the delivery of all dental treatment and care is consistent with all regulatory, accreditation, and professional standards, including clinic policies and quality initiatives.
Understand and ensure all practices and procedures related to the delivery of dental services are consistent with contracted protocols and procedures.
Develop and ensure favorable relationships with all patients and their families, ensuring all patient services are delivered in a caring and professional manner.
Develop and ensure favorable relationships with vendors, contractors, and payor sources.
Develop and ensure ongoing, positive relationships and collaboration with other dentists and dental staff members.
Ensure the success of each clinic operation through collaborative support and working relationships with all clinic operations staff.
Ensure all actions, job performance, personal conduct, and communications represent the organization in a highly professional manner at all times.
Uphold and ensure compliance and attention to all corporate policies and procedures as well as the overall mission and values of CentroMed.
Perform quality clinical and radiographic evaluations to diagnose and treat diseases of the oral cavity.
Promote oral health by providing educational information on all phases of preventive and restorative dentistry and oral hygiene.
Review and follow all Dental Clinic protocols, policies, and procedures.
Document and follow treatment plans that include appropriate preventive and restorative therapy as indicated by the Standards of Care and Clinical Quality.
Work as a member of the dental staff in implementing the objectives and the Clinical Outcome Measures by the Life Cycle Groups of the Health Care Plan.
Manage patient flow and strive to achieve productivity goals.
Participate in the annual evaluation of the dental support staff.
Participate in the dental quality assurance program, including quarterly chart audits, infection control, and OSHA regulations.
Review and participate in the implementation of the dental safety program.
Participate in the evaluation and implementation of changes in the dental department to ensure quality of service to the community.
Monitor and maintain Continuing Dental Education requirements for the Texas License as required by the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners.
