Dentist II: Endodontist (.20 FTE)
About The Position
La Clínica de La Raza is a community-based health center serving diverse communities in the San Francisco Bay Area. The Dentist II provides dental care in a culturally and linguistically appropriate setting and contributes to La Clínica’s mission of accessible, high-quality care. The role is described as particularly suited to a pediatric dentist with experience in a primary care clinic setting. Spanish fluency is preferred to help serve the clinic’s diverse patient population. The dentist handles pediatric dental care, conducts examinations and procedures, treats oral diseases, and works with physicians and a cross-functional dental team. The position also involves maintaining clinical records, participating in staff conferences, and supporting patient education.
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited school of dentistry.
- Possess a valid D.D.S. or D.M.D. license to practice in California.
- Specialize in pediatric dentistry.
- Ability to operate all types of dental equipment and machinery.
- Ability to work across cultures and demonstrate support for diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Two or more years of experience in all phases of general dentistry and auxiliary utilization.
Nice To Haves
- One to two years of experience in a primary care clinic setting.
- Fluency in Spanish.
- Strong interpersonal competence, including the ability to build effective relationships with team members and patients.
Responsibilities
- Handle all aspects of pediatric dentistry.
- Perform oral exams, restorations, extractions, and prophylactic work.
- Serve as a member of a cross-functional team of dentists providing patient care.
- Perform four-handed dentistry and oral surgery.
- Treat mouth diseases and confer with physicians regarding medical and dental problems.
- Assign patients to plaque control or other educational programs.
- Attend staff conferences.
- Keep clinical and other records regarding services provided and supplies and materials used.
