Dentist II: Pediatric Dentist (.40 FTE)
About The Position
La Clínica de La Raza is a community-based health center serving diverse communities in the San Francisco Bay Area. The Pediatric Dentist provides pediatric dental care to patients, including examinations, restorative treatment, extractions, preventive care, and oral surgery. The role works as part of a cross-functional dental team and supports culturally and linguistically appropriate care for low-income families, regardless of insurance status or ability to pay. The position is most suited to a pediatric dentist with 1–2 years of experience in a primary care clinic setting. Spanish fluency is considered ideal for serving the patient community. Success requires strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective relationships with patients and team members. This is a .40 FTE position.
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited school of dentistry.
- Possess a valid D.D.S. or D.M.D. license to practice in California.
- Specialize in pediatric dentistry.
- Ability to operate all types of dental equipment and machinery.
- Ability to work across cultures and demonstrate support for diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Two or more years of experience in all phases of general dentistry and auxiliary utilization.
Nice To Haves
- Spanish fluency.
- One to two years of experience in a primary care clinic setting.
Responsibilities
- Handle all aspects of pediatric dentistry.
- Perform oral examinations, restorations, extractions, and prophylactic work.
- Participate as a member of a cross-functional team of dentists providing patient care.
- Perform four-handed dentistry and oral surgery.
- Treat diseases of the mouth and confer with physicians regarding medical and dental problems.
- Assign patients to plaque-control or other educational programs.
- Attend staff conferences.
- Maintain clinical and other records regarding services provided and supplies and materials used.
