Requirements

  • 1-3 years of previous dental front office experience is required.
  • Must have knowledge of all dental insurances including PPOs, Medi & Chip.
  • Bilingual (Spanish) is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Dental practice management software (Open Dental/Dentrix) experience helpful.

Responsibilities

  • Educate patients on the type and extent of treatment needed.
  • Convert planned treatment to scheduled treatment in multi-specialty areas (Pedodontics, Endodontics, Oral Surgery, Orthodontics).
  • Communicate with referring offices regarding treatment plans and updates via letters and emails.
  • Verify all insurances, including PPOs, Medi, and Chip.
  • Call in / Fax COP (change of provider).
  • Send Pre-Authorizations.
  • Utilize excellent communication skills to explain, present, and educate patients on dental procedures and treatment plans (Fillings, Crowns, Bridges, Dentures, Implants).
  • Process payments (Cash, Credit, Care Credit).
  • Audit chart notes and create claims.
  • Run end-of-day reports.
  • Assist with office opening and closing.
  • Perform daily housekeeping (shared with other staff).
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
  • Ensure patient payments are collected at the time of service.
