About The Position

Community Health Centers of America is seeking a compassionate, organized and knowledgeable Dental Treatment Coordinator and Front Desk Lead to join their dental clinic team in Sacramento. We are a non-profit organization dedicated to providing top-tier care for every member of our community. The Treatment Coordinator is essential to providing exceptional patient care, coordinating treatment plans, and managing financial discussions with patients. This role involves a combination of patient-facing duties, administrative support, and financial coordination, ensuring that patients understand the treatment options and financial responsibilities while supporting efficient clinic operations. The Treatment Coordinator’s main responsibilities are to clearly explain treatment options to the patient, coordinate a treatment plan with the doctor and present it to the patient, and be knowledgeable about the treatment and timelines with the patient. As Front Desk Lead, this position will support the front desk team and provide direction to ensure a welcoming and efficient patient flow and compliant documentation. Experience in the dental field and knowledge of CPT codes is mandatory.

Requirements

  • Two years experience in dental front office or treatment coordinator required
  • Strong knowledge of dental HMO and Medi-Cal dental plans, insurance verification, fee schedules and financial presentation
  • Experience with dental management software and proficiency in MicroSoft Excel and Office suite
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients and dental team members
  • Strong organizational skills with focus on accuracy, detail and multitasking
  • High school diploma or equivalent

Nice To Haves

  • 5 years preferred experience in dental front office or treatment coordinator
  • Bilingual English and Spanish, Russian, Farsi or Pashto preferred

Responsibilities

  • Greet and welcome patients to the dental office with compassion and professionalism, assisting with check-in and check-out processes
  • Partner with dentist to present treatment plans to patients, providing clear explanations and answering questions. Educate patients on benefits, insurance coverage and financial options. Help address financial barriers.
  • Verify insurance eligibility and benefits and manage submission and follow-up of dental claims, pre-estimates and referrals.
  • Schedule and confirm appointments for dental treatments
  • Handle incoming phone calls
  • Coordinate with dental team to ensure smooth patient flow and efficient treatment scheduling
  • Maintain accurate patient records and update information timely to support treatment and billing consistent with HIPAA and requirements
  • Assist with managing office inventory and ordering supplies
  • Play a crucial part in ensuring our patients receive the highest quality care by coordinating their treatment plans and providing exceptional customer service.
