About The Position

This position involves learning the fundamental aspects of dental prosthesis fabrication and repair. The trainee will gain knowledge of tooth morphology, anatomy, and the use of various materials like precious and non-precious metals, porcelain, composite, acrylic, and more. Responsibilities include learning to read and interpret dental prescriptions, manufacturing fixed or removable appliances to restore natural teeth and correct dental irregularities, and understanding the function of various hand tools and equipment. The role requires working under supervision, documenting learning progress, and adhering to quality standards. The trainee will also learn to identify problem cases requiring additional preparation.

  • Basic dental training.

Responsibilities

  • Learn basic tooth morphology and anatomy.
  • Fabricate and repair dental prosthesis and dental appliances such as dentures, partials, crowns and bridges, inlay/onlay, veneers, and implant restorations.
  • Read and interpret dental prescriptions.
  • Become familiar with a wide range of materials (metal and non-metal) and their use in fabricating dental restorations.
  • Restore natural teeth and correct dental irregularities by manufacturing fixed or removable appliances.
  • Develop technical knowledge to make decisions when fabricating dental prosthesis.
  • Learn basics of replacing partial or total loss of natural teeth by constructing partial or full dentures (metal and non-metal).
  • Become familiar with names and functions of various types of hand tools and equipment (electric drills, presses, lathes, high-heat furnaces, etc.).
  • Practice using various types of hand tools and equipment (electric drills, presses, lathes, high-heat furnaces, etc.).
  • Document learning by completing quizzes and worksheets.
  • Work under supervision of trainers, and ask for assistance and/or clarification regarding technical issues.
  • Learn quality standard protocol, and steps taken to ensure compliance with protocol.
  • Learn to recognize problem cases that need additional prep work.
