About The Position

Nova Southeastern University (NSU) is seeking a Dental Sterilization Technician to sterilize dental instruments according to OSHA and infection control standards for the College of Dental Medicine. This role involves collecting and dispensing dental instruments and maintaining inventory of supplies. Requirements

Ability to understand and interpret state and OSHA rules and regulations regarding sterilization procedures, and infection control.
Ability to enter and verify information with accuracy.
Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.

Ability to work cooperatively with colleagues and supervisory staff at all levels.
May be exposed to short, intermittent, and/or prolonged periods of sitting and/or standing in performance of job duties.
May be required to accomplish job duties using various types of equipment/supplies, to include but not limited to sterilization machinery, plastic wrappings, pens, pencils and computer keyboards.
Ability to lift dental instrumentation trays.
Exposed to dental materials or chemicals used in dental operatories or laboratories including, but not limited to latex, acrylic, glutaraldehyde, etc.

Nice To Haves

Computer skills.
One year (1) experience in a dental or hospital setting.

Responsibilities

Sterilizes instruments for students and faculty to ensure compliance with OSHA and CDC regulations.
Maintains infection control areas to ensure compliance with OSHA and state regulations.
Maintains inventory of supplies to ensure availability of instruments for students and faculty.
Dispenses and collects supplies and equipment to ensure operational efficiency.
Collects data and maintains reports to ensure proper infection control standards are met.
Performs other duties as assigned.
