About The Position

Raio Dental is seeking a hands-on Dental Practice Manager for their Hempstead, NY location. This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, requiring bilingual Spanish and English fluency and significant Medicaid dental experience. The practice is an 8-operatory, multi-provider facility with potential for growth. The incoming manager will have the opportunity to establish systems, build the team, and improve operations. Centralized RCM and operational support, along with initial training, will be provided. The ideal candidate is a bilingual, Medicaid-savvy dental operator who can effectively manage the office, lead the team, and take ownership of the practice's results.

Requirements

  • Bilingual Spanish/English fluency
  • Meaningful Medicaid dental experience
  • Prior dental practice management/front-office leadership experience
  • Strong understanding of dental insurance, Medicaid workflows, eligibility, authorizations, and patient balances
  • Experience managing patient flow, scheduling, collections, and treatment acceptance
  • Ability to lead and hold a front-office team accountable
  • Comfortable discussing money with patients professionally and directly
  • Organized, responsive, and dependable
  • Ability to arrive on time and expect the same level of accountability from the team
  • Ability to handle a fast-moving environment without losing track of details
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for a patient base with a wide range of backgrounds
  • Ability to balance a strong patient experience with the operational and financial needs of the practice
  • An Associates degree or equivalent experience

Responsibilities

  • Manage patient flow, schedules, cancellations, no-shows, and bottlenecks.
  • Understand patient ledgers, insurance vs. patient balances, collections, and outstanding treatment.
  • Keep doctor and hygiene schedules productive, reappoint patients, and follow up on unscheduled treatment.
  • Confidently discuss treatment plans with patients, explain financial responsibility, address questions or barriers, and facilitate treatment acceptance.
  • Understand Medicaid eligibility, authorizations, documentation, and specific patient population requirements.
  • Set clear expectations, address performance issues, and create accountability for the front-office team.
  • Proactively investigate issues, follow through, and escalate appropriately.
  • Build trust with patients and team members across a diverse community in both Spanish and English.
  • Work effectively with doctors, hygienists, assistants, and centralized support teams.
  • Understand how daily execution impacts the practice’s financial and operational performance.
  • Run the day-to-day operations of the dental office.
  • Lead and hold the front-office team accountable.
  • Ensure the practice executes well every day.
