About The Position

A Dental Laboratory Technician specializing in partials and dentures is responsible for the fabrication, modification, and repair of complete and removable partial dentures to restore oral function and appearance. Working from dental prescriptions, impressions, and bite registrations provided by dentists, they utilize traditional laboratory techniques alongside digital workflows, CAD/CAM systems, and 3D printing technology to produce accurate denture bases, framework components, wax setups, and final prostheses. The role involves promoting a welcoming environment, fabricating and repairing dental prosthetics according to prescriptions, interpreting dental data, utilizing both traditional and digital technologies, selecting and manipulating dental materials, performing repairs and adjustments, conducting quality assurance, operating and maintaining laboratory equipment, documenting maintenance, managing warranties, maintaining a clean and safe lab, documenting case work, managing invoices and statements, proper storage of patient cases, collaborating with dental professionals, staying current with best practices, maintaining CDT credentials, providing technical guidance, and managing inventory.

Requirements

  • Certified Dental Technician (CDT) credentials
  • Required continuing education and adherence to standards established by the National Board for Certification

  • Skill in selecting, preparing, and manipulating dental materials (acrylics, resins, metals, and digital materials)
  • Ability to perform denture and partial repairs, relines, adjustments, and remakes
  • Ability to conduct quality assurance inspections
  • Ability to operate, maintain, and perform routine preventive maintenance on laboratory equipment (3D printers, curing units, milling machines, handpieces, processing equipment)
  • Ability to accurately document equipment maintenance, calibration, troubleshooting, and service activities
  • Ability to manage all warranties on laboratory equipment and machinery
  • Ability to maintain a clean, safe, and organized laboratory environment in compliance with infection control, OSHA, and material safety standards
  • Ability to document case work thoroughly
  • Ability to manage invoices and monthly statements for supplies or outside lab work
  • Ability to properly store and record all patient cases through the delivery process

Responsibilities

  • Fabricate, modify, and repair dental prosthetics-including complete dentures and removable partial dentures-in accordance with written prescriptions from licensed dentists.
  • Interpret dental prescriptions, impressions, bite registrations, and digital scans to produce accurate, functional, and aesthetically appropriate prosthetic devices.
  • Utilize traditional laboratory methods and digital technologies, including CAD/CAM systems and 3D printers, throughout the fabrication process.
  • Select, prepare, and manipulate dental materials (acrylics, resins, metals, and digital materials) in compliance with clinical and quality standards.
  • Perform denture and partial repairs, relines, adjustments, and remakes as required.
  • Conduct quality assurance inspections to ensure proper fit, function, appearance, and compliance with prescription requirements prior to delivery.
  • Operate, maintain, and perform routine preventive maintenance on laboratory equipment, including 3D printers, curing units, milling machines, handpieces, and processing equipment, in accordance with manufacturer guidelines.
  • Accurately document equipment maintenance, calibration, troubleshooting, and service activities in maintenance logs or electronic systems to support regulatory compliance and operational continuity.
  • Management of all warranties on all laboratory equipment and machinery.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized laboratory environment in compliance with infection control, OSHA, and material safety standards.
  • Document case work thoroughly, including materials used, fabrication steps, and quality control checks.
  • Management of any and all invoices and monthly statements for supplies or outside lab work.
  • Proper storage and record keeping of all patient cases through the delivery process.
  • Collaborate with dentists, dental staff, and laboratory personnel to resolve technical issues and support optimal patient outcomes.
  • Maintain current knowledge of best practices within the profession.
  • Maintain Certified Dental Technician (CDT) credentials, including required continuing education and adherence to standards established by the National Board for Certification.
  • Provide technical guidance or mentorship to non‑certified technicians or support staff, as applicable.
  • Maintains proper use of equipment and proper inventory management of supplies.
  • Assist in controlling the use of material and supplies necessary to perform job duties.
  • Perform other duties, as assigned.
